More Problems with marker

Hello this is my first post on this forum so forgive me if it's in the wrong spot. I currently own a tippmann x7 with a flatline barrel. The problems all started when I first started shooting the gun, it more or less broke every ball it shot. I was with a friend who advised me that it was the balls themselves, so i tried his. This improved to breaking about every fifth ball. I cleaned the gun and shot 1 more which broke inside the hopper. I looked over the gun and found out the flatline barrel deosn't seem to be aligned completely strait and there is a definite ridge on the inside.  Next I purchased a box of marbalizer paint and an e-grip for the marker, after installing the e-grip and setting the fire mode to auto-response I went outside to test. I set the firing mode to semi- auto and pulled the trigger, i was greeted by a fully auto burst of broken paint. Checking the hopper i found the bottom to be filled with more broken paint. So inside i go to clean out the marker and recheck the installation, everything seemed fine so I went out to test again, with the same result.

If you can, try the flatline on another X7, one that is known to be fine. That will determine your problem, which wil either be your X7 or your barrel. Also use paint that is known to be fine in the temperature youre using it in.

All of the above are good ideas. Try these ideas one at a time to determine the problem.

1, Turn the velocity down. Make sue you are turning the screw clockwise to turn it down. Tippmanns are the opposite of most other guns.
2. Click the ratchet, and also try firing it empty. Make sure the ratchet is spinning counter clockwise.
3. Take the barrel off and look inside the breech, make sure the gun is emptied. See if the ball latch is facing toward you or away. it should be pointing toward you from that point of view. Use you finger to see if it depresses correctly.
4. Change barrels back to your stock barrel. This will determine if the barrel is the problem. If it is, it should still be under warranty. Just return it to Tippmann or the store you bought it from.

Remember, when you adjust your velocity, it is best to do it with a chronograph. Nobody on this boad will tell you how many turns in it should be to get it in the right spot. It varies for every gun and it is not safe to rely on this method.

I had run into the same issue with my  X7 breaking balls appearing mostly in the hopper at the breach area and I have replaced the hopper stock paddle with an upgrade squishy paddle and this problem has been completely eliminated.        Cheers and good paintballing!
