I declare this thread, and every post in it - including this one - absolutely retarded.
That is all.

Have a question. For eight years all but one(FOX)news outlet was claimed to be "critical" of the president (Bush) and asked the hard questions. Now those same news outlets cowtow to the White House and throw softballs at Obama, and Fox is the only one being "critical" and is being thrown to the wolves.
And as of late the only media outlets that have "made up" news or have credibility issues have been ABC/NBC/CBS. And as well, FOX has "left" leaning commentators on thier network for the "fair and balanced" approach, please identify the right leaning commentators on the other "approved" networks. Please you left leaners, explain this pattern to "nutjobs" as many here charactorize myself and FE. |

President Bush should be considered responsible for what his underlings did while he was in office . . . and so should President Obama.
Its kind of a part of that whole "leadership" thing. |

I'm confused. The least educated majority in the country responsible for voting Obama into office watch Fox? I thought they only watched All Barak Channel, Mostly Socialist News Broadcasting Company, New Barak Channel, and the Complete Barak Station.

Wow. I can't believe I forgot the worst of the bunch. I generally call that one the Communist News Network. Clinton works well enough, though...

Mack this is what I am talking.
Go back to where I quoted Fox. It said Obama is doing something. This AP article says: "A new Obama administration policy loosening guidelines on federal prosecution of medical marijuana" It makes a difference in my eyes. |

I heard an astounding fact last night. 1 in 5 Americans watch Fox news... 1 in 5. That is insane how huge that "cable" news network has become.
I researched it this morning as I figured that there was no way it was that huge, I mean I know their ratings, but I assumed that they had the same viewers for each show, but, this proves that the viewers watch individual shows, and not all day.
Here is where the stat came from.
Oh, and just for fun...
"The cable news audience is slightly more affluent and well-educated than the network news audience. It also is more Republican: 46% of Republicans regularly watch cable news compared with 31% who watch network news." Edited by FreeEnterprise - 20 October 2009 at 8:06am |

His name is attached to it, therefore he's responsible for what it does.

It would honestly take me about six hours of going through posts to correct or point out flaws in this thread.
Let me just say this: Pretty much everything said in this thread is incorrect. |

I for one am glad to see that they teach you to use such a broad brush in your "journalism" classes. Good to get your ready for your mainstream media future... I wonder if you ever feel guilty for engaging in such obvious partisan rhetoric.
Why don't you actually take me to task instead of throwing out major generalizations?
Did the Obama white house not attack fox news?
Is the PEW research center not a good source? (not even bringing up the way the country feels about the major media's bias, which you show on almost every thread I post in...)
Did mulitiple sources not all comment on this attack from the white house calling fox news "not a news source"?
Maybe you missed all the sources I posted. Here maybe this will bring the fact home to you.
Really weak post whale, I expected more from someone like you...

This website that the white house put out about fox news doesn't exist either...
Seriously, the blanket statements with no sources or evidence are getting very tired, and just show the bigoted nature of many on this site.

This is a logical fallacy if trying to argue the correctness of Fox News as a responsible news agency. The number of viewers does not indicated the level of ethics, truth or responsibility that an agency carries. One simply does not correlate to the other. If the point attempting to be made is that a lot of people watch it, then this is fine. Nobody will argue that. Heck, I watch Fox News simply out of entertainment value. If you go by the broken logic that more viewers = better, then obviously you think Lady Gaga is the most talented musician currently because she sells a lot of albums.
This shouldn't be a surprise really, if you just look at statistics. Well educated normally correlates with affluence. More money = more likely to be able to afford cable or satellite. Age demographic also plays into it. Registered Republicans are statistically older, and therefore have more available time to watch cable news. The real question: What point were those stats supposed to make? |
