Hey everyone, im new to the forum and just starting to get into woodsball with all of my friends. I picked up an Alpha Black from my local paintball shop and grabbed the Cyclone feed for it also.

Im curious as to which upgrades are key for this gun. I know the cyclone is so that it eliminates slicing balls which is why i got it. But ive also seen barrels here or there...its almost like i dont know where to look or what to get for it. Im not sure i want to go with an E grip right away so i was thinking a barrel to start out then i can go from there. Any recommendations on an good accurate barrel? Open to any advice, im hoping to get some good info and meet some cool people on here.

open to many opinions, so fire away :D

any 14inch barrel would help, I got an "ops gear" 14incher. I like it a lot.

but alot of people "say" Lapco Bigshots are good... I personally don't care for any brand over the other.

J&J and Lapco's are highly recommended around here. Check out the stickies and read through the first couple of pages of posts in here and the new players forum. Lots of useful info on upgrades.

i was checking out barrels at my local shop and when i tried on a few the barrel shroud was too big which caused it to move around. which personally would drive me insane. so i would like to get a barrel similar to the factory one on the Alpha Black. At least the same width. But then again i do want a shroud with rails to mount stuff, i could always get a shroud with rails.

im really leaning towards the BigShot 14" from Lapco. but would either have to fit the stock shroud or ill have to buy one with rails. still want to get a handle mount rail with a sight though.

The stock barrel is thicker than a lot of the aftermarkert ones. Most common fix is black electrical tape or hockey tape. Done correctly, you can't evern see it.

black electrical tape is the answer for the barrel issue. nobody can even tell its on my abt. my hammerhead and jj 14' barrels are very nice. as far as chopping balls without the cyclone thats a new one on me. i have had my abt since april and have yet to have any chops. i'm constantly changing the firing mode on the e-grip and thus far no problems. personally i like the ab the way it is out of the box. inexspensive and ready to go but thats just me.

I definitly love having the AB. I guess you could say im more of a woods/scenario game type person. I love having the tactical feel. The cyclone is working wonders for me, only problem ive ever had is when im running low on air (last 20 shots), it will start to misfire but i figured it was just because it was low.

Definitly thinking about going with the Lapco BigShot either 12-14" thinking the 12 because i like the stock look. Remote line, and egrip all by the 17th of this month. Cheapest place ive found the egrip for is $80 on ebay any other good deals?
