So I am on the phone with apple support right now for possibly the dumbest reason I have ever experienced.

In February I sent in my macbook pro for repairs covered under apple care. No big deal really. They fixed it and sent it back in about a week perfectly fine (or so I thought).

However, my friend and I were talking about processor speed today, and I checked my processor speed on my system profiler. It said I had a 2.2 Ghz processor. Only one problem, the macbook pro I bought has a 2.4 Ghz processor and 256mb vid card. System profiler shows 2.2 Ghz processor and 128mb vid card. They freaking downgraded my computer.

So now I get to sit on the phone trying to figure out what the heck happened.

Yay apple?

Edit: Oh and the serial numbers on my box and the computer are the exact same so I got the same computer/case back.

Now they are telling me that their reports on two separate databases show that the parts are actually the 2.4 Ghz and 256mb vid card, but I'm taking it to the apple store to get it checked out anyways. I don't see how system profile could just be wrong on both the processor and vid card.

Wow that sucks dude, keep us posted on what happens, I'd really like to hear what they say happened.
If interested you should talk to TUAW or something and fill them in, I'm sure you could get frontpage on digg and such if it turns out to be an issue.
